Mediation is a civil, cost effective and expeditious way to resolve Small Claims and Civil disputes as an alternative to taking your case to Court.
The process nurtures the development of formal or informal agreements that may be necessary to resolve the dispute and may even repair or strengthen the relationship.
In a private setting, the Mediator guides participants through the mediation process to promote fair communication, reasonable negotiation and better understanding of each other's point of view in an effort to reach an optimum solution that is fair to all involved. In mediation, you are part of the decision making process. If you take your case to Court, the decision is entirely out of your hands.
Try to work out your small claim or civil dispute in mediation first with the support of a professional mediator then if you aren't successful, you can always go to Court for someone else to decide the outcome for you.
